Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety & Stress
In-Person & Telehealth Video Therapy in Maryland
Welcome, I am Ann, and thanks for stopping by in your search for a therapist.
I specialize in helping adults with the impact of stress & trauma. With grounding in the present, we can repair what happened in the past so it no longer defines us. We can then discover self-acceptance, fulfillment and ease, waiting inside of us.

Clients who benefit from therapy with me…
Are curious to know themselves more deeply through listening to the body, mind, and emotions.
May have a diagnosis, such as depression, anxiety, adhd, ptsd, or complex ptsd (c-ptsd), and you know that you are more than a diagnosis or label.
Want to work through painful emotions stemming from relational or childhood abuse, and uncover the ease, joy, optimism and contentment that are waiting inside you.
Want to work with a therapist who is experienced, consistently present and patient with your pace.
How I Help
Individual psychotherapy with adults that aspires to be relational, and strengths-based while using compassion & encouragement to motivate change.
I consider how our connections in relationships, society, and our natural environment, impact our well-being.
My worldview considers how systems of oppression and inequities (based on race, sociocultural factors, socioeconomic status, and political influence) impact mental health and well-being.

Other Models that Inform How I Work
I often use theories and models of therapy that are rooted in how we develop and interact with, and are shaped by systems we are a part of. This can include our relationship with our own internal system, our self! Therapy models that inform my work include Attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, IFS (internal family systems), cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic approaches. Whatever the modality or tool, I believe that a therapeutic relationship that builds hope, trust, and understanding is important.

Mindfulness Principles and Practices
Mindfulness helps us observe our present moment-to-moment experience, and can increase our awareness of ourselves in a non-judgmental and accepting way. My work with clients is influenced by my own practice of trauma-informed mindfulness and mindful self-compassion.
